It is the administrative headquarters of Chhindwara District.Chhindwara, the headquarters of the Chhindwara District, is situated on the Bodri Stream, a tributary of the Kulbehra River. It lies in the heart of Satpura valley, at an altitude of 677 m, and is bordered by ranges of low hills.
