Korba, the administrative headquarters of Korba District, is an industrial town situated at the confluence of the rivers Hasdeo and Ahiran in Chhattisgarh. Korba has surplus of power and Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB) is one of the few profit making State Electricity Boards in the country. Pali (58 km), Lafagarh, Kudurmal (15 km), Kendai falls (67 km), Kanki (20 km) and Bango Dam makes excellent excursions outside the city. The Korba Mahotsav, held in the month of May, is a major draw.
