Mandya is a city in Mandya District in Karnataka state of India. The name comes from a saint Mandavya who lived here in ancient times.Mandya is 40 km from Mysore and 100 km from Bangalore.Mandya, the administrative headquarters of Mandya District, is a major center for commerce and trade in Karnataka.

The annual car festival held in the Janardhanaswami Temple here draws a large number of devotees.
The Kaveri River is the main water source of Mandya, through the Krishna Raja Sagar reservoir. Rice and sugarcane are the main crops.
